Real Answers to Real Questions About Nevada Estate Planning, Probate, and EEOICPA
Your situation isn't generic — and the information guiding your decisions shouldn't be either. This is where I share plain-language guidance on the topics my clients ask about most, from estate planning checklists to RECA reauthorization updates to what guardianship actually involves.
Legal Guidance for Every Stage of Life
Our practice includes:
- Estate planning designed around your family, property, and long-term wishes.
- Probate guidance for executors, beneficiaries, and families navigating Clark County and Nevada court procedures.
- Guardianship representation for adults, minors, and emergency situations when court authority becomes necessary.
- EEOICPA claims assistance for eligible nuclear workers and surviving family members throughout Nevada.
Many clients begin with one concern and discover additional planning opportunities that help keep important decisions organized for the future. We take time to explain each option so you understand not only what documents are recommended, but why they matter.
If you live near Downtown Las Vegas, Summerlin, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Green Valley, Anthem, Centennial Hills, or elsewhere in Clark County, our office is available for in-person consultations. We also offer virtual appointments for clients throughout Nevada.
Within many estate plans,
estate planning services work together with wills, trusts, and powers of attorney to create a coordinated strategy instead of separate documents prepared in isolation.
What You'll Find Here
I write about the things that matter to Nevada families: how to choose between a will and a trust, what happens when a loved one dies without a plan, how to qualify for EEOICPA benefits, and what the RECA 2025 reauthorization means for test site workers and their survivors. No recycled national content. No legalese for its own sake.

A Series LLC allows you to hold multiple assets or business lines under a single entity while keeping each one legally isolated. This structure is particularly useful for real estate investors and multi-venture entrepreneurs. I help you evaluate whether a Series LLC fits your goals and set it up correctly under Nevada law.

Frequently Asked Questions About Nevada Estate Planning
What's the difference between a will and a trust in Nevada?
A will directs where your assets go after you die and must go through probate before anything transfers. A trust holds your assets during your lifetime and passes them to your beneficiaries without court involvement. For many Nevada families, a trust is the more efficient choice — but the right answer depends on your assets, your family situation, and your goals. I cover this in detail on the estate planning blog.
What is RECA reauthorization 2025 and who qualifies?
The Radiation Exposure Compensation Act was significantly expanded through reauthorization legislation that extended coverage to additional downwinder areas, post-1971 uranium workers, and Nevada Test Site employees who were previously excluded. If you or a family member worked at the Nevada Test Site or lived in a designated exposure area, you may qualify under the updated rules. I'm the only local Las Vegas-based attorney representative for these claims, and I post updates on the blog as guidance evolves.
Do I need an estate planning checklist before meeting with an attorney?
It helps. Knowing what documents you already have, what assets you own, and who you'd name as beneficiaries or agents makes your consultation more productive and your plan more accurate. My free Nevada estate planning checklist is a good starting point — download it before your first appointment.
What are the alternatives to guardianship in Nevada?
Guardianship is sometimes necessary, but it's not always the first or best option. A durable power of attorney, a healthcare directive, or a properly structured trust can often accomplish the same protective goals with far less court involvement. I write about guardianship alternatives on the blog because too many families pursue formal guardianship before exploring what a well-drafted estate plan could have prevented.
Is this blog specific to Nevada law?
Yes. Every article I publish is written with Nevada residents in mind. Estate planning, probate, and guardianship law varies significantly by state, and I don't publish generic national content. If you're in Las Vegas, Henderson, Summerlin, North Las Vegas, Boulder City, or Pahrump, the guidance here applies to your situation.
